Immerse yourself in the serenity of Ockwells Park, a verdant haven where nature reigns supreme. Your last place of interest off the motorway section of the trip is Reading, a vibrant Berkshire town brimming with cultural treasures and historical significance.

A34 turnoff to Newbury

After exiting the motorway on the A34, you will encounter Snelsmore Common, a tranquil country park situated just north of Newbury, your next destination. Continue your journey along the A339 to reach charming Newbury, a market town nestled at the meeting point of the River Kennet and the River Lambourn. Newbury's rich history is evident in its graceful Georgian architecture, quaint medieval streets, and the ruins of Donnington Castle, a reminder of its strategic significance in past eras.

As you leave the Newbury area behind, you'll settle into the rhythm of the A4—the old Bath Road—its meandering path guiding you through the heart of England's countryside. Your next stop is Hungerford, a charming market town nestled amidst rolling hills and verdant meadows. From there, you continue to Marlborough, an old market town steeped in history, with a picturesque medieval marketplace and a grand 12th-century castle.

Or, immerse yourselves in the grandeur of Bowood House & Gardens, an 18th-century estate adorned with exquisite architecture and manicured gardens.

It's then a short drive to the town of Chippenham. Nestled amidst the picturesque Wiltshire countryside, the charming town is thought to have been founded by the Anglo-Saxons around 600 AD.
